I like black, red, and white.
Here are two of my paintings that are currently being curated at the "Alejandro Juarez Austin State Art Museum" off of West Saint Elmo. I always liked painting in the old communist propaganda poster style. What a coincidence that those same colors are the colors of my future wife's home country! God has a way to give us hints, I bet he's up there laughing his butt off at how many clues he gave me and I never got it. Oh well, what can you do. Enjoy the latest pics.

I like to draw
This is a sketch of the inside of my favorite building. The Pantheon in Rome, Italy. I spent so much time here drawing it from all sides, and this quick sketch that took me five minutes is my favorite one. You never know what you can pull out with a black ink pen that cost $1.40 and a 5" by 7" sketch book. Good times...

It's all in the details
When I was in Italy, I saw an art exhibit on "details". It was about discovering the small things that were hidden in typical things. The "art" was really hidden, basically. This photo was taken at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was hidden, it must be passed by hundreds of people daily, but unless you're paying attention, you will miss all the beautiful detail nature left for us to see. So slow down, take some time to really discover what is out there for us. RJ

The first photo
This is one of my favorite photos. It just soothes me. I took it as I was driving down to Brownsville from Houston a couple of years ago. Most of the photography you will find on my site will be of abstract or nature sense, some will have my family and even some, my friends. We will see where this crazy journey takes us. I hope you enjoy what I have to say, and more importantly what I see. RJ
